Harper (13), Elias (11), Arri (7), Ezra (4) and Jonah (1) just spent their summer vacation starring in the movie God Bless The Child and now you can help them travel from Davis, CA to Austin, TX for the SXSW premiere. Fundraising goal of 12k.
Filmmakers Robert Machoian and Rodrigo Ojeda-Beck cast Rob’s own children for their second feature film. The story follows the five siblings, left on their own to spend a summer’s day full of fantasy and chaos.
Machoian and Ojeda-Beck are a prolific directing duo who have created numerous intimate shorts that have premiered at major festivals. Their first feature Forty Years From Yesterday was recently released on VOD and DVD.
Producer Laura Heberton has launched the kickstarter to help the kids and the filmmaking team travel to the premiere and screenings.
Rewards include a digital download of the film before it releases, hand made shirts, knit baby hats, posters, consultations and producer credits. The 10k grand prize is actually quite a deal for aspiring screenwriters, Robert and Rodrigo will fully shoot, edit and finish your short script (not to exceed 14 minutes).
The filmmaking team includes producers Rob Thomas and Laura Heberton, associate producer Kirstin Anderson, and co-writer/photographer Rebecca Graham.
